cernlib-core-dev software package provides CERNLIB data analysis suite - core development files, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cernlib-core-dev
cernlib-core-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cernlib-core-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cernlib-core-dev *
You will get with cernlib-core-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
